Automatic
Absence Notification by Telephone
An
InTouch Digital Server can provide
a Student Absence Notification System that relieves your staff of the need to
spend their valuable time calling the parents of absent students each day. The
system accesses the names and phone numbers of absent students from the
school’s attendance computer or database. Then the system automatically calls
those phone numbers and plays a pre-recorded message informing parents of their
child’s absence. You can easily customize this message for each school in your
district.
You can configure the system to make calls only during specific times, such as evening hours, when parents are most likely to be home. When parents receive absence-notification calls, the system will provide the details of the absence and request that the parent call the Attendance Office to clear the absence or will allow a message to be recorded explaining the reasons for the absence. InTouch Digital allows immediate call transfer to the Attendance Office during school hours.
Another major enhancement is providing parents the ability to be notified by whatever electronic method they choose. In addition to the telephone we can support cellular text messages, pager notification, e-mail notification or any combinations of these methods. InTouch Digital supports integration with all Attendance Systems and Databases.

Absence Notification System
The
InTouch Digital Server receives information regarding absences from the
school attendance system, and based on pre-defined parent information
triggers an absence notification message, which may be delivered
immediately by email, pager, cellular SMS or voice message, or may be
delayed until the evening hours when a phone call to the home phone
delivers the notification. InTouch
Digital provides the ability to deliver the attendance message in the
preferred language of the recipient at a time most convenient to the
parent. Full
reporting of all calls, message delivery and failure is made available to
the Attendance Office in real-time, as well as allowing parents to clear
the absence with a voice message during the notification call, thereby
eliminating the need for a call back to be made to the school. Parents
can also use the InTouch Digital Server to notify the school of expected
absences for their student, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All absence
messages are delivered to the Attendance Office immediately, are time
stamped and contain the phone number of the recording party. Parents may
also provide notice of an absence by email. Homework
Assignment Line The
Homework Assignment Line enables students and parents to access homework
assignments and special-project due dates by phone at any time. InTouch
Digital also makes it easy for teachers to update homework assignments in
the system. You can connect the Homework Assignment module directly to a
teacher's existing voice mailboxes, or optionally create individual
subject/grade homework notification lines.

Communication
System for All Groups Using
the InTouch Digital unique mailbox partitioning, school organizations such
as band, drama, choirs or team sports can be set up within a “secure
group” for communications within that respective group.
Home
schooling surveillance by telephone The
InTouch Digital Server provides full support for home schooling
surveillance, by calling the pre-defined student’s home phone numbers at
differing times of day, and requiring a verbal confirmation of a random
password or phrase, ensures that the monitored student is in fact
physically at the contracted location.
Instant notification to the Attendance Office of failed to answer or
failures to respond correctly, ensuring monitored students can never have
others respond for them.
